Once upon a time Kitti borrowed a crazy cake book from the library that featured pretty cakes by Debbie Brown. Her family thought it was a cool book so they bought a couple of them off Amazon. Several years later it was decided it would be kinda fun to make one. Thus...we have a cake!

Why PowerPuff Girls, you ask? 'cause we didn't have a 10 X 10 baking tin, that's why. I wanted a pirate ship, personally. Stupid tin sizes. >.<

By the way, does anyone know how to make sponge cake more moist? For some reason it's superdry and crumbly T_T It tastes great 'n all, but the consistency does need some work.

And I'm using Gum-Tex by Wilton to make the fondant sculptable...but it's still really soft and droopy. I use about a tablespoon of gum per fist-sized chunk. Suggestions?

heh, that's what I was gonna tell you. My grandma uses a little less than half a can of soda to make the cake rise more and it makes the cake fluffier.

OOoo that's interesting! I'll have to give that a shot next time I make a cake~ Is it just regular soda water or lemon-lime soda like Sprite?

Thank you~!

We usually uses sprite or 7up but I suppose soda water works. I don't think it really matters, its all works because of the foam from pouring, and the other ingredients reacting with it.

Happy Baking :D

Well, my mum always sprinkles it with a little bit of rum or milk. And maybe try to spread some jam between slices.
Rum doesn't make it alcoholic if you put it a little.
Hope it helped^^.
